Hi N’cole. First of all, I just want to apologize for the trouble you had with the recipe. That’s always frustrating. Sounds like you did some good troubleshooting on your own (Adding a little more flour is what we would have recommended). If cookie dough sticks to your hands, you can also cover them in a little oil or cooking spray while rolling the dough. Otherwise, it’s really hard to tell what went wrong. I really hope they tasted good once you got them baked. All the best to you.

Apparently I’m the only one who had issues with this recipe. I measured everything on the kitchen scale and still had issues. The dough was not thick enough to even keep its shape so I had to add more flour. Then even after adding flour the dough was too sticky to really roll in a ball. I used my cookie scoop and just plopped them on the parchment and sprinkled the candy cane pieces on top since I couldn’t roll them without most of the dough ending up on my hands. I also wanted to mention there is salt listed in the ingredients but it’s not in the instructions.
I am freezing them now to bake later so not sure how they taste. I imagine they will still taste good.
