This will be my go to pecan pie. Great recipe. End product came out really nice. Lots of positive remarks from the family. General consensus was the addition of the chocolate gave a different taste that made the normally super sweet pecan pie a deeper flavor.

The dough was super easy to roll out and I did exactly as you mentioned with the aluminum foil and beans. The dough shrunk while baking. This isn’t a deep dish pie, looks like any other pecan pie. Very disappointed.

Tried it this Christmas. Everyone wanted to know what I did. I said I had secret intentions ( toasted the Prcans added cinnamon and added you got it chocolate}
I never told the crowed that.

I made this at Thanksgiving for my family, left out the chocolate chunks. My whole family said it was the best pecan pie I have ever made for them. It was truly del. I’m making for them again at Christmas, per their request . IT WAS TRULY TOP NOTCH.
