Hi Sue! So glad you are enjoying my blog. You can use an ice cube tray, but I’d make sure it’s made from silicone. It will be much easier to get the chocolate out of a silicone tray versus a traditional plastic ice cube tray. Enjoy!

I think we will be good friends 🙂 Wondering if I could use an icecube tray instead of a 8 by 8 pan? Good idea or no?

Hi Sylvie, I’ve never tried freezing them, but I imagine they would freeze well. If possible i would try to freeze them undipped, and then once they are defrosted, give them the final dipping in chocolate. Otherwise, the freezing/defrosting might leave condensation marks on the chocolate. It’ll still taste good, but might not be as perfectly smooth and shiny. Let me know how it goes if you give it a try!

I totally agree with December being a butt-kicker month! Every year it’s like this, and every year I vow not to let next year be the same, but it always is. I seriously want to write out a schedule for myself so that I can get things done ahead and have relaxation from Dec 1 on. I’ve started making notes on things to do differently, gifts I can make ahead, etc. Which brings me to another point – do you think these would freeze well? I bet they would. . . . If yes, then this is a great MAKE AHEAD family gift for neighbors!! Merry Christmas, my friend!!

Haha, what is your secret to not being super out of it when you wake up?! I liked the nap part but afterward I was seriously confused. Share your wisdom!

Hi Martha, condensed milk is an important part of the recipe and there’s not a substitute. If the issue is that you can’t find it in your area, you can try making your own:
