I was so excited to try these brownies. My 6 year old LOVES goat cheese! I tried twice to make the brownie part of this recipe. On the first attempt it came out very light in color and was powdery. I thought perhaps I over whipped. I decided to try again. For the second attempt I was meticulous in following the directions, and the batter was the expected color. Unfortunately it too was quite powdery. So disappointing. I gave 2 stars because the top layers were delicious. I will be finding a new brownie recipe to pair with the amazing top layers.

Hi Dionne, I am so excited for you to make these! I would love to know how it goes! As for the flour those measurements are the same amount. One is by weight and one is by cups. 1/2 cup is the same as 2.25 oz. This just gives you both options depending on which way you are planning to measure out. I hope that helps! Don’t hesitate to let me know if you have anymore questions. Feel free to email me! Have fun!

Can you confirm the amount of flour needed please? Your recipe states – 2 1/4 oz all-purpose flour 1/2 cup. I’m making these for a cheese and dessert night and can’t wait!

Hi Lexy, the brownies in the picture were made in an 8×8 pan, and I’d estimate they’re about 1.5″ tall. If made in a 9×9 pan they’d probably be closer to a little over an inch tall. Hope this helps!

Thanks Laurel! I LOVE Nanaimo bars so of course now I’m thinking of how I can make them with goat cheese. 🙂

Thanks. They look soo good.
