Hi Tressie, thanks for the review, and I’m sorry there were some difficulties. I’m not sure what you mean by the amount of butter to graham cracker ratio is incorrect: did you find there to be too much butter, or not enough? I’m also wondering if your pan was more shallow, since you had a whole pan’s worth of filling left over. 4 blocks/2 lbs of cream cheese is a pretty standard ratio for a 9-inch cheesecake that’s made in a 3-inch deep pan. The filling does go right to the top and there might be a little left over, but not enough for a whole new pan of bars. I hope you were still able to enjoy the cheesecake (and bars!) and am always happy to help you troubleshoot further.

I followed and weighed every ingredient and I will say, yes, many measurements are very off. The amount of butter to graham cracker is incorrect, and the amount of ingredients and baking time for a 9-inch round cheesecake baking round leaves for a lot of extra everything. I had enough extra to make a pan of cheesecake bars.

Hi Kaela. It it possible, but I don’t know that I’d recommend it because you’d need to make quite a few adjustments. First of all, a springform pan is much deeper than a storebought Oreo crust pan. The recipe will make more filling than will fit into the smaller pan. Since there’d be less filling in the pan, you’d also need to adjust the baking time. We haven’t tested the recipe for these changes, so I can’t really give you good guidance on how to reduce the filling or change the baking time. If you try it, just know it might not work out quite right the first time. You might need to make it a few times to figure out the precise changes to make. I hope that helps. Best to you!

Hi Casey. Thanks for your question. The butter measurement is correct. It may seem like the metric and ounce measurements don’t match, but they are correct. Most of us grew up learning that 8oz = 1 cup. That’s a good rule of thumb but not always accurate since ounce measurements are by weight. You’ll notice a measurement tip at the bottom of each recipe card explaining this. Don’t be afraid to follow the directions as written. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

The metric and oz measurements don’t match, and 5 tbsp of butter for this much graham cracker seems way too little. I’m going with the grams measurement, so hopefully that’s right.
