Hi Vicki! I’ve never tried making it smaller but don’t see why it wouldn’t work. There is actually a tool on the recipe card under the ingredient list (just above the instructions) that allows you to adjust the number of servings. This cake makes 20 servings normally so you could use the tool to drop the servings down to 10 and it will automatically adjust the recipe for you. Also, you’ll want to be aware of how the cake is cooking. Cook times may need to be adjusted depending on the pans you use and how much batter is in the pan. Good luck! Ive been wanting to make this cake for years and finally did! I LOVE the cake – so moist! I had trouble layering it because the curd meant the layers moved too much. Next time I would put on a layer at a time and chill in between. Mine is a bit lopsided and I didn’t did a good job with the fondant but im learning! Thank you for this.
